Welcome to Hethersett Memorial Playing Field

Hethersett Memorial Playing Field is located at heart of Hethersett and provides opportunities for sport and recreational activities for all residents of the Parish of Hethersett. The Hethersett Memorial Playing Field Trust (HMPFT) is a registered charity set up in 1992 which maintains the recreation ground and existing pavilion. The Trustees ensure the playing field and facilities can be used by residents, groups, clubs and members of the public.

The playing field currently includes 3 football pitches, 2 croquet lawns, bowling green, cycle speedway, non-turf cricket pitch, children’s playground and car park. A nominal fee is charged for use of the existing pavilion.

Wonky Wheels

We wanted to introduce you to an exciting new initiative planned for Hethersett. Wonky Wheels Community Bicycle Workshop is aiming to launch in 2021.

Led by the Hethersett Memorial Playing Field Trust, supported by the Hethersett Hawks Cycle Speedway Club, Croquet Club, and run by volunteers, we are aiming to create a new community hub that allows locals to access free workshops for all ages. These workshops will teach you how to maintain and repair your bicycles and stay safe on the road.

The Parish Council has drawn up plans to replace the pavilion with a new meeting room, changing rooms and external facilities. But before we go any further, we’d love to hear your views on the plans.

Future plans

The Trust’s priority is fundraising to extend the pavilion to ensure it is fit for purpose and to provide quality facilities to its key user groups and local community.
